Nighty night

I actually got inspiration for my current mani from the night gown I wore this weekend. (Yes, weekend. I was lazy!)

Inspiration:

IRL, it's much brighter. I love the look and the colors. Coral is one of my favoriteeee colors.

My nails look good in person, but in these pictures it really magnifies that flaws!! So sad, because this is an absolutely adorable mani!! The polish is so thick because I put two coats of white to use as a base because I was originally going to marble my nails. First, water marble, but then I decided that was too time consuming and tape wasteful, so then I was going to do it how I did before -- with a toothpick on the nail. Sadly, the black made the other colors look muddy and dirty, so I went with my second option: french konadicure. I forgot I had plate m56 with the flowers for a french tip, so it worked out perfectly! I really do love this, I couldn't take it off after just one day, so it will live another!

One of my favorite polishes EVER

I know I've said it quite a few times, but I can't say enough about how much I adore Nicole by OPI - Show You Care. It's the polish I found when I was on the hunt for a deep purple polish after I saw Jennie Garth's character, Valerie, wear that shade on What I Like About You. It's a perfect color, and I will wear it year round even though I try and reserve super dark polishes for autumn/winter.

I wish I was able to take pictures of my nails under the water, the purple really showed through and it was... magical. I will try to remember to take my camera the next time I have this polish on and go to the pool.

This was the last of my spam postings! I just took this polish off yesterday, I'm letting my nails breathe and they just chip in the chlorine anyway. I took Friday off to have an extra day with P and we're spending the weekend at the pool. I'm also off Wednesday for our anniversary, so we'll be at the pool Wednesday and Saturday, before going to my 'rents for Easter. Ahh, the perks of living in Florida.

Have a good weekend, all!

Del Sol - Holly Berry

I finally used Del Sol - Holly Berry. It's fabulous!! It works so well and both colors are really gorgeous. The purple isn't a true purple like the label, it's more of a red-tinged purple, but still amazing. I need to find a polish that color, because I'm in love.

I didn't take a video this time, but it did change color quickly like Ruby Slippers. The longer I was outside, it got to a darker purple. Simply gorgeous.

I can't wait to try the others!

Dollar Tree = Love

On the same day that I met up with my friend Jane and she gave me Hard Candy - Beetle, I went to Dollar Tree for a few items. I went to see if they had any good polishes... lo' and behold, they had quite a few Cover Girl polishes in two packs. TWO PACKS. $1 - 2 polishes. Awesome! I immediately fell in love with, and had to have Cover Girl Ice Slicks - Anti-Freeze. The color with it is Midnight Forest which looks like a dupe for Ulta Salon Formula - Jaded. I need to compare the two.. I actually have quite a few polishes I need to take out and compare, but that will be another day.

I love that they came in a package, but Midnight Forest has random purple polish all over it. I was going to remove it, but have left it for character.

Nature flew into my car during lunch! It was so pretty -- too bad it died so quickly. =(

essence & Wet N Wild

I love essence! It's so cheap but they have great colors and products. I bought Choose Me! because it reminded me of Orly - Halley's Comet, and I'm hoping it's some sort of dupe. Of course, I don't have Halley's Comet, so I have no idea if it is, but I'd love to find out. I used Wet N Wild - Caribbean Frost as a base.

Bottle pics:

Flash.

No flash. This shows the glitter best.

Flash. Shows the base color best.

Flash.

No flash. Imagine a mix of the last two pictures as the true color of Caribbean Frost.

None of the pictures really show off the color of the glitter, but it really does shimmer and shine. I love it, best 99 cents I've spent!

Diamond Cosmetics - Amethyst & Diamonds

I love this. The name is perfect... it's a beautiful shade of purple with holo glitter inside. Observe:

Fabulous, no?

Gray & Pink Konadicure

This is by far one of my most favorite manis I've ever done.

Diamond Cosmetics - Matte Smoke, NYC - Polyester Pink Creme with Wet N Wild - Black Creme for the tips and skull. I used Konad plate m28.

Don't you love it?! I can't get enough! I didn't want to take it off.

I wish I knew what this was

Seriously. I have no idea what this polish is. I've looked through all of my polishes and I can't figure out what it is. I think it may possibly be Del Sol - Ruby Slippers, but I'm really really not sure. I really really wish I did!

Isn't JB so cute?

But see, it has a holo effect... Ruby Slippers does not. Sooooooooo.... I'm lost. =(

If I ever figure it out, I'll let you know!

Valentines Day

My v-day mani was simple; not overpowering. I abhore red & pink together, it gives me anxiety. Can't do it. Needless to say, Valentine's Day isn't one of the best times of the year for me. I don't really believe in the whole commercialized "I must tell you I love you today, because it's a 'holiday'" thing -- and no, it isn't because I'm single and sad and lonely. I'm actually far from it. I'm in an extremely happy and loving relationship, but neither of us really care about the "holiday" -- we do special things for each other year round and we tell each other we love each other every single day. [/soapbox]

That being said, I am still a sucker for hearts (which I didn't really think about until I realized that three of my five [and counting] tattoos are hearts. who woulda thunk?) I have almost all of the Nicole by OPI hearts polishes, and I love them. So, for this v-day, I used Nicole by OPI - Step 2 The Beat Of My <3 from the Bieber collection.

I told you it was simple. =)

Last Friday Night

There's a stranger in my bed
There's a pounding my head
Glitter all over the room
Pink flamingos in the pool
I smell like a minibar
DJ's passed out in the yard
Barbie's on the barbeque

There's a hickie or a bruise
Pictures of last night
Eended up online
I'm screwed
Oh well
It's a black top blur
But I'm pretty sure it ruled

Last Friday night
Yeah we danced on tabletops
And we took too many shots
Think we kissed but I forgot

This Friday night
Do it all again

Ahh, Last Friday Night. Great song, great polish. Even though I couldn't justify spending the money, I'm very glad Cheeto did and got me the minis! It's so glittery like one of my favorite things -- a disco ball.

Linkin Park

P & I went to the Linkin Park concert in January. For the event I wore Wet N Wild - Black Creme with the love of my life China Glaze - Ruby Pumps on top. LOVE.

Finger Paints + Biebs

As you should all know by now, I'm obsessed with layering. Especially the last couple of months, I can't seem to just wear a polish by itself without layering it with some sort of glitter or shimmer. Sometimes I really dig contrasts, but here it was very monochromatic, but very beautiful.

Lavender Highlights on it's own.

Finger Paints - Lavender Highlights with Nicole by OPI - One Less Lonely Glitter.

Gorg! No?

Birthday Haul!

First off, Cheeto was at it again! She gave me these amazing things for my birthday:

Color Club Enchanted Holiday Set - Magic Elf, Enchanted Holiday, Snowflakes, Wish List Red & decals (because she knows I love sparkles!); Diamond Cosmetics - Midnight Passion (remember when I said I was surprised at my lack of purples? I'm definitely hooked up now!); Barry M - Dusky Mauve (Chanel - Paradoxal dupe she's been waiting to give me since LAST FALL!); Krackpolish - Blue from transdesign.com (I wish this polish worked. The color is beautiful, but it doesn't crack much and comes right off. Sadddd.); OPI Katy Perry Collection Minis!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The One That Got Away, Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night, Not Like The Movies. (I'm SO excited she got these for me! I had already purchased Not Like The Movies, but I was in debate on getting the rest because I love Katy Perry, but Teenage Dream seems to be a dupe for Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Strobe Light and Last Friday Night seems to be a dupe for Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Rock Star. I still have to compare, but they were close enough that I couldn't see spending $8 for the OPI version.) As always, Cheeto is fabuloussssss and knows me so well!

These are other polishes I received for my birthday. The left three are from my parents and the right two are from a friend.

This shows the holo the best.

The OPIs look the best here, but the left one is dustier and they both have a frost quality to them.

No flash. Shows the China Glazes the best, except for the red.

China Glaze - Phat Santa, Sugar Plums, Mistletoe Kisses; OPI - Not So Bora-Bora-ing Pink, Rosy Future.

Finally, P & I went shopping.

Yes, I can't get over the fact that JUSTIN BIEBER has a polish line, and am saddened by it. I am more saddened by the fact that two of the three polishes missing are now polishes I own. The purple sparkle was far too gorgeous and I want to own all of the Nicole by OPI hearts.

So sad! Ulta's always out of OPI - Black Shatter! =( But YAY for Ulta clearance!!

Ulta Professional - High Shine Top Coat, Blue For You (two pack on clearance); OPI Katy Perry Collection - Not Like The Movies; NYC - Flat Iron Green (also on clearance); Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber Collection - One Less Lonely Glitter, Step 2 The Beat Of My <3.

See how awfully cramped my poor polishes were?

They finally got a new home! What a size difference!

Hurrah! All the polishes fit comfortably in their new home.

Sadly, I already need another new container -- possibly two. Ha!
